Kayaker safe after distress call

REBECCA TRIGGER, The West Australian August 30, 2012, 5:30 pm

Update, 6.15pm: A kayaker who was in distress under the Mt Henry Bridge has not been injured.

Police were called about 5.20pm to assist the man believed to be paddling just off The Esplanade. It is believed he ran into a strong current but managed to paddle to safety.

A patrol boat was been despatched to the area.
