DEC prescribed burn in north

The Department of Environment and Conservation is warning motorists to take care as they conduct a prescribed burn in Perth's north today.

The burn is being carried out over about 50ha in the Gnangara pine plantation, about 12km east of Wanneroo.

Smoke from the burn is already visible across Perth's northern suburbs.

Motorists are advised to take care, turn on headlights and travel at appropriate speeds while travelling in the area.

People with conditions exacerbated by smoke should take precautions in line with their medical advice.
