Newman worker charged over theft

A 43-year-old Newman man has been charged after he allegedly stole $17,000 worth of equipment from his employer.

It is alleged the items were stolen over a long period of time

Police began an investigation in June and the man was arrested on Saturday after a search warrant was executed at his home.

He has been charged with stealing as a servant and is due to appear in Newman Magistrate's Court on August 22.
