Hawthorn star Lance Franklin has been involved in a car crash in Melbourne but his AFL club says he has not suffered an injury.
A statement by the Hawks said the accident happened last night.
“Lance Franklin has informed the club he was involved in a vehicle accident earlier this evening,” the statement said.
“Lance is shaken but has not sustained injury in the accident, while the driver of the other vehicle involved has been treated for an arm injury.”
Franklin will soon begin a period of driving licence suspension after being caught travelling at 90km/h in a 50km/h zone in the Melbourne suburb of Brighton East on July 19.He has missed the Hawks' past four matches with a hamstring injury but is due to return against Port Adelaide in Tasmania on Sunday.
