A man has been arrested and is being questioned over the suspected murder of a 60-year-old Bullsbrook woman.

The 54-year-old man was arrested in Esperance this morning.

Major Crime Squad officers and Esperance Detectives are interviewing the man.

No other details are available.

Police were called to the isolated Bullsbrook property last night after a neighbour discovered the woman's body about 7pm.

A police spokeswoman confirmed today that investigators are treating the incident as a homicide.

She said an examination of the crime scene would take some time as police tried to determine the circumstances that lead to the woman's death.

Forensic officers have begun their examination of the scene.

Major crime squad officers and Midland detectives are investigating.
