One dead in Geraldton crash

A person has died and another is trapped after a crash near Geraldton.

A truck and a vehicle caught alight after they collided near the intersection of Brand Highway and Greenough River Road in Cape Burney, 10km south of Geraldton at about 6pm.

Emergency services officers are working to free at least one trapped person in the wreckage.

Motorists are being urged to avoid Brand Highway which will be closed for several hours.
