A man was charged last night with causing grievous bodily harm over a one-punch attack in Perth that left a 23-year-old tourist in an induced coma in a critical condition.

The victim’s family were expected to arrive in Perth today from Germany.

The man, who is in WA with his girlfriend, was walking over Horseshoe Bridge about 11.30pm on Saturday when there was a dispute with three men and two women.

The man was punched once in the face and fell to the ground unconscious.

He was taken to hospital and underwent surgery to relieve pressure on his brain.
