A mother and her son have been charged over their involvement in a wild street brawl in Northam last night.
Police arrested three people following the brawl in which up to 60 people who were attending two separate parties at neighbouring houses on Byfield Street clashed and spilled onto the street about 11pm last night.
The 40-year-old woman has been charged with assaulting a public officer and disorderly conduct and her 14-year-old son has been charged with disorderly conduct.
One of the parties was a wake while the other was an 18th birthday party.
Two men were taken to Northam Hospital for treatment following the incident after one was knocked unconscious and the other suffered a cut to his shoulder.
Police units from Northam, York, Toodyay, Merredin, Wyalkatchem, Dowerin and Perth were called to control the brawl and disperse the crowd and prevent further fighting.
Police expect to lay more charges over the incident and investigations are ongoing.Sponsored links
