Body found in Applecross

STAFF REPORTERS, The West Australian February 10, 2012, 6:28 pm

Update: Police are investigating after a body was discovered floating in the Swan River this evening.

The body was found about 20m from the shore off the coast of Jeff Joseph Reserve, which is located on The Strand, at about 5.30pm.

Detectives attended the scene and retrieved several items from the body, including what appeared to be a checked shirt.

It is believed the body had been in the water for some time.

Water Police also attended the scene.

Investigations are continuing.
