Emergency audio reveals Molly call

Dramatic audio has emerged of the 000 call to emergency services on the night Molly Meldrum suffered potentially life-threatening injuries.

In the audio a woman rings emergency services, saying "the patient is Ian Molly Meldrum".

The 000 operator responds: "Is he breathing, you can say unknown if you don't know."

The woman says: "Unknown, unknown."

The audio is part of a Channel 7 Sunday Night program to be aired this week.

Meldrum suffered serious head injuries when he fell at his home while hanging Christmas lights.

He spent five weeks at Melbourne's The Alfred hospital before being transferred to the Epworth Rehabilitation hospital.
