Traffic in Albany was brought to a standstill for two hours today as a truck carrying building supplies came to a halt up a hill.

The BGC truck's double trailer load was too heavy for the steep Seymour Street gradient and the truck was forced to stop halfway up the hill at 11am.

Police held up traffic at four intersections for two hours while a second trailer was left behind and dragged onto a side street by another hauling vehicle.
