Two Aboriginal Family Law Services staff in Broome and four residents of upper-level apartments were evacuated after a fire broke out at the back of their complex this morning.
A receptionist discovered the fire in a locked cage in the rear car park.
She ran through the building screaming to alert other staff and notified authorities.
Firefighters arrived within 15 minutes and quickly extinguished the blaze.
The building’s porch suffered minor damage from smoke and flames but no structural damage has been reported.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
The complex includes offices and residential apartments on an upper level.Sponsored links
