All clear after Shoalwater fire

Update, Wednesday, 4.30pm The all clear has been issued after a fire in Shoalwater which threatened homes yesterday.

The blaze was under control last night and the Fire and Emergency Services Authority says the danger has now passed.

The fire started between Lease Road and Boundary Road in the City of Rockingham about 5.57pm.

FESA warned of a possible threat to lives and homes due to changing conditions and urged nearby residents between Lease Road, Boundary Road and Memorial Road to leavet.

About 40 firefighters and helitacs were at the scene and fire crews will continue to monitor the area overnight.

The fire burnt about 10 hectares and its cause is unknown.
