Robbie Williams - full story

Robbie Williams has been the cheeky bad boy of pop for more than two decades.

He got his start in the early ‘90s as one-fifth of boy band Take That, but when he flew the coop in 1995, he hit the London party scene hard, with no indication of what a force in the industry he’d soon become.

Now, seven solo studio albums later, Robbie Williams is one of the most charismatic and bankable solo performers in the world. Just look at the roster of radio-friendly hits: Let Me Entertain You, Angels, Rock DJ, Feel and now Candy, the first taste of his upcoming eighth album Take the Crown, released November 2.

But alongside music, there’s another focus in Williams’ life nowadays: a burgeoning family with wife Ayda Field and new baby daughter Teddy Rose. In this very special interview, the always-engaging superstar opens up to Sunday Night reporter PJ Madam about his new life as a singalong daddy, and how his fatherly responsibilities have turned his life around.

Williams reveals how drugs consumed and almost overtook his life while he was at the height of his fame. He’s charming, candid and extremely passionate when the conversation turns to his charity that raises millions for disadvantaged kids. Then there’s his longing to live in Australia.

Take the Crown will be released in Australia on November 2, but you can preorder the standard or deluxe editions of the album on iTunes now.
