Two women have been charged after allegedly stealing a 17-year-old girl’s cat over an unpaid debt.

Police say the two women entered a home at Aberfoyle Park, south of Adelaide, on Tuesday night and allegedly stole the animal.

They allege the theft occurred over an unpaid debt.

The two women, aged 29 and 30, have been charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass and theft, and have been bailed to appear in court at a later date.

Luckily for the feline victim, it was found and returned unharmed to its teenage owner, police say.
