The South Australian government has announced a restricted duck and quail hunting season across the state for 2012.

Duck season

• Begins on March 3 and will run until June 24 2012.
• Hunters are allowed a bag limit of 12 ducks per hunter per day.

Quail season

• Begins in the South East (below the line of latitude 36 degrees south) on March 3, and for the rest of the state quail season begins on March 31. The season will finish on July 29.

• The bag limit of quail in all areas is 25 per hunter per day.
