Security footage released by police shows diners fleeing as a bikie brawl erupts at a suburban Adelaide restaurant.
Police have released the video and called for witnesses to the fight between bikies at the Orientai Restaurant at Holden Hill on December 23.
About 30 people were enjoying a pre-Christmas dinner when it began, with the footage showing dozens of people jumping from their chairs as the fight erupts.
Police say a 29-year-old Redwood Park man, a member of the Rebels Motorcycle Gang, was arrested the following day and charged with affray.
So far, no charges have been laid against the other three men, believed to be linked to the Descendants.
“It appears and there would be reasonable inference drawn, that the other people were merely defending each other,” said Detective Inspector John Candia.
He hopes more witnesses will come forward with information on what lead to the fight.Police say the arrested Rebels member has also been slapped with a 12-month barring order, preventing him from going to several licenced premises.
But Sally Neville from Restaurant and Catering SA said it would be hard to turn bikies away.
“Restaurants are unlike pubs or clubs who might have security, who’ve been trained in how to refuse entry to someone,” she said.Anyone who may have witnessed the restaurant fight or has any information is asked to contact Crime stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.sa.crimestoppers.com.au.
