A man has been murdered in a shooting at Pooraka in Adelaide’s northern suburbs this afternoon.

Police say the victim is aged in his 30s and was shot multiple times in the head at a crash repairer on Langford St at Pooraka just after 1.30pm.

Nearby businesses say they heard yelling and screaming before several loud shots.

The victim was unconscious when paramedics arrived and was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, but died soon after.

Detective Inspector Mark Trenwith said the Major Crime Branch is investigating.

“The matter is being treated as a murder, it has been declared a major crime,” he said.

“There were a number of people in the area when the incident happened – we’re currently canvassing these people to find out exactly what they’ve seen.”

Langford St has been cordoned off while crime scene examiners comb over the scene.

While several men were seen following the attack wearing outlaw motorcycle gang clothing, police won’t confirm if there are any links to bikies.

They also say it is too early to tell whether the shooting is linked to an arson attack at a home at Parafield Gardens last night.

Police believe the shooting is not a random incident.
