Local researchers are undertaking one of the world's biggest studies into how diet affects diabetes. The results could re-write the rules on what sufferers should and shouldn't eat.
Traditionally a high carb, low fat and reduced protein diet is recommended for type 2 diabetes patients. But the CSIRO and Adelaide Uni are embarking on a massive study to see if that is really the healthiest choice.
Over two years researchers will monitor patients on different diets.
To take part in the study you need to be 35 to 68 years old and suffer from type 2 diabetes.
