Second man arrested over toddler death

Police have arrested a second man over the death of Brisbane toddler Kyeesha-Lee Joughin whose body was found in her father's unit on March 30 this year.

The 44-year-old man was allegedly boarding at the Petrie unit the girl shared with her father on Brisbane northern outskirts.

Today he finished a nine month jail sentence for a string for traffic offences committed in NSW and then appeared in a Sydney court where Petrie detectives successfully applied to extradite him back to Queensland.

The 44-year-old was jailed in March after police pulled him over on a routine traffic stop in northern New South Wales.
At the time of his court appearance his name was subject to a suppression order.

In May, police charged Kyeesha-Lee's father, Matthew Lee Williamson, with the manslaughter of his daughter and a charge of cruelty to children under 16. The 28-year-old was released on bail.

The 44-year-old man will appear in the Brisbane Magistrate's Court tomorrow charged with the manslaughter of Kyeesha-Lee and a charge of cruelty to children under 16.
