Hero police dog back on the job

Hero police dog, Bosun, has come to the rescue once again after capturing a man allegedly involved in a police chase on the Gold Coast yesterday.

The 24-year-old Coombabah man was allegedly traveling in a stolen vehicle when police attempted to intercept the car.

The vehicle then sped away from police, who abandoned the chase and continued tracking the car from the police helicopter.

When police again attempted to intercept the vehicle on Matilda Road, the driver allegedly hit a street sign and a tree before fleeing into nearby bushland.

Police dog Bosun, tracked the man who was then arrested.

The man was charged with numerous offences including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, stealing, possessing firearms and obstructing a police officer.

Bosun has captured the hearts of both his colleagues and the community and has recently garnered a lot of media attention.

He helped track down the people accused of murdering Gold Coast officer Damian Leeding last year and was also badly injured in another incident at Upper Coomera.

Bosun also took part in the Shave for a Cure campaign.
