Police have named a man who died after being found unconscious in a Lower Hutt driveway.
He was 52-year-old Michael James Mulholland, from the suburb of Taita.
Mr Mulholland was found by a friend in the driveway of a Farmer Crescent home in Taita on Thursday evening.
Emergency services were alerted about 10.15pm and performed CPR but Mr Mulholland died at the scene.
A team of 25 police staff are working on a homicide investigation into his death.
Inquiry head Detective Inspector Darrin Thomson said Mr Mulholland had facial injuries.
A post-mortem was being carried out on Friday, and police hoped it would reveal more about the circumstances surrounding his death.
Scene examinations were being carried out and police were also speaking to a large number of people in the area.
They asked anyone who was in Farmer Crescent between 8pm and 11pm on Thursday to come forward.Sponsored links
