One dead in Hamilton car crash

One person is dead following a car crash in Hamilton on Tuesday evening.

The accident, which involved two cars, happened at about 8pm on Peacocks Road about five kilometres south of the central city, a statement from police said.

One person died at the scene and another was taken to Waikato Hospital with injuries.
