Body found after wide-scale search for missing central Queensland mum

Police have located the body believed to be that of missing central Queensland mum Hannah Cook.

Earlier today, an abandoned 4WD belonging to the missing woman was found by police.

The 25-year-old was last seen after she dropped her child off at a Gladstone CBD school, about 9am on Monday.

Officers found her vehicle this afternoon at Mt Alma, about 30km southwest of Ms Cook's hometown of Calliope, near Gladstone.

Police searched the woman's vehicle for clues that might help locate her, The Gladstone Observer reported.

A chopper and police dog squad were reportedly deployed in the wide-scale search, and police also searched the Calliope River, about 25km out of Mt Alma. Paramedics were placed on standby.

There are no suspicious circumstances in relation to Ms Cook's death, a police spokesperson confirmed Tuesday evening.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
