Fires have Brisbane on high alert
Dozens of residents have been told to prepare to evacuate with a fast-moving bushfire threatening Beachmere near Bribie Island.
A watch and act message was issued for residents on the southern part of Wallace Road at Beachmere.
Fire crews said a large grass fire is burning near Peel Road at Ningi.
The fire was threatening one property but there was no need for other residents to relocate.
The fire has burnt about 1000ha. 16 fire crews and two helicopters are fighting the fire which is causing a large amount of smoke east of Brisbane.
Motorists have been warned that visibility has been effected near the Bruce Highway.
