Sara Groen is the weather presenter for the 6pm News in Sydney.

A former reporter with Beyond Tomorrow, Sara joined the top rating team - which includes Ian Ross and Chris Bath - in January 2007.

She started at Seven in 2002 as a presenter and segment producer for national children's television program Saturday Disney. She juggled her duties on the show with both university and acting studies.

In 2004, she also joined Sydney Weekender as a reporter and in 2005, graduated from Monash University with a BA in Journalism.

Reporting on the weather was the next logical next step for Sara, who covered many meteorological stories during her time with the science and technology program, Beyond Tomorrow.

"Weather and climate change is such an important issue . . . it's a very interesting time to be doing this job," says Sara.

In her role with Seven News, Sara covers weather and environmental issues from every angle, delivering her segments and reporting on conditions from all over Sydney. She also regularly fills in as a presenter for Seven's Late News updates.

2008 saw her step up to the microphone on Seven's hit celebrity singing show, It Takes Two. Partnered with country crooner Adam Harvey, she made it down to the final six couples.

Sara is a well-seasoned traveller who has journeyed extensively through Asia and Europe and lived everywhere from Perth to Bangkok. She is also an ambassador for the National Breast Cancer Foundation and patron for Camp Quality.

When she's not working she enjoys the outdoors, eating good food and seeing films.
