Samantha Armytage

Samantha Armytage is Seven's national 4.30pm News anchor.

A versatile news and public affairs presenter, she is also the co-host of Weekend Sunrise alongside Andrew O'Keefe and presents the east coast edition of the Today Tonight Summer Series.

Sam has anchored the 4.30pm bulletin since 2006. Most recently however, she has returned to the field, filing reports for the flagship program in Seven's news and public affairs line-up, Sunday Night. She has also filled in as co-host of The Morning Show and has presented Sunrise, the 6pm News, Morning News and Late News bulletins.

Sam joined the Seven News team in 2003. As a reporter, she covered a number of high profile news stories, including the trials of Schapelle Corby and the Bali Nine in Indonesia, the ongoing unrest in East Timor and the aftermath of the Cronulla riots. She's also toured with the royal family and frocked up for Melbourne Cup coverage.

During the 2007 Federal Election, Sam conducted the final live interview with John Howard as Prime Minister.

She has interviewed a host of celebrities, including Sting, Kylie Minogue, Matt Damon and Daniel Radcliffe.

After studying Communications at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst, Sam worked as a news reporter and presenter at WIN Television in Canberra. She then moved to Sky News as a political correspondent in the Canberra Press Gallery.

When Sam is not at work, she loves travelling and keeping active. She regularly plays golf and tennis and loves skiing and horse racing. She's also a huge supporter of regional Australia, having grown up on a property in country NSW.
