Ann Sanders

Ann Sanders presents the national 11.30am bulletin for Seven News as well as news updates during The Morning Show.

A respected journalist with 30 years experience in television, she's worked mostly for Channel Seven.

While a presenter on the 6pm bulletin for Seven News in Sydney, Ann also reported on major news events as they unfolded.

She was in Thredbo at the scene of the landslide disaster in 1997 and collected a Logie Award on behalf of the Seven News team for coverage of the event. Other major stories she has covered include the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales in London; the Port Arthur massacre in Tasmania and the Waterfall train disaster. She was also involved in Federal and State election coverages and the Sydney Olympics in 2000 for Seven News.

Earlier in her career, Ann presented 11AM and in 1990, travelled to Chernobyl, reporting on the radiation fall-out disaster. Her stories inspired massive fundraising appeals that helped hundreds of children and their families.

In 1993, she also became the national face of the successful crime-fighting show Australia's Most Wanted, while continuing her role on 11AM.

Ann began her broadcasting career with Channel Seven in Perth and worked for a short period for Seven News in Adelaide.

She moved to Sydney in 1983 to join Channel Ten's News as a reporter and presenter, before returning to Seven News in 1988.

Ann has collected two Logie Awards during her career. As well as accepting one for Seven's coverage of the Thredbo disaster, she has won Most Popular Television Personality. Ann is also a recipient of Clear Speech Awards from the Better Hearing Association and has hosted public events including "Opera in the Park" and the "Sydney Symphony at the Superdome".

Ann is married with two sons and her patronage of The Children's Music Foundation is indicative of her passion for educating and caring for our children. In addition, she is on the women's advisory committee for the National Breast Cancer Centre and an ambassador for Osteoporosis Australia.
