While the competition is called the National Rugby League, the Australian side is actually run by the Australian Rugby League which also owns the Origin series.
The New South Wales Rugby League is somewhere in the mix as is the New South Wales Country Rugby league.
The NRL has two Boards, its own and one that represents the "Partnership" which apparently, depending on who you ask, is the one that wields the power.
Of course the ARL has its own board as do the other entities.
That is a brief snapshot of the upper levels of the administration of the game in NSW and Nationally, but trust me , there are many tiers beneath that.
Queensland then has its own various administrations, as do all other states.
Of course there are some quality people involved in all levels of all states but the problem lies in the detail.
Consider the money that is consumed to keep it all going. Naturally not all levels need to be done away with, but certainly change is required.
Surely its time for the game of Rugby League to completely overhaul its administration and put an end to the seemingly aimless wanderings of the game.
The various divisions need to be consolidated to take us into the future under one banner with a united strong direction.
If there is a real difference between League and AFL, its not in the entertainment that we provide, rather it is in the AFL's strong administration which leaves ours shamefully wanting.
There should immediately be an independent audit of all levels of administration and a new streamlined model adopted.
The other deficiencies in the game cannot be addressed until this occurs.

There is only one football code that is international , the others are a joke on the international level.
Oct 2 11:24 amAs a professional sports trainer and fitness expert the level of skill acquisition of the football codes varies astronomically.
As a rugby league player or a rugby union player at a international level you only get to compete against a fraction of the elite players that you would playing football.Aussie rules is a complete joke at the interantional level.
inventing a game where you needed to throw the ball backwards to get it fowards.I never understood that. it seems AFL is more logical in its rules as well.
Oct 7 01:07 pmAFL and NRL are BOTH for losers with nothing better to do.
Oct 11 05:18 pm"Does not compare as a spectacle"... Are you kidding. There's nothing worse than seeing Barry Hall getting suspended for clipping someone over the back of the head when they deserved it. If you give someone a cheap shot many metres away from the ball, you deserve whats coming. AFL needs to toughen up.
Oct 13 05:53 pmHaving recently moved to Victoria and going to the odd AFL game, you have to admire the way it is sold to such a small audience-truly marketing genius. The only game in the world where you can drop a ball and it's considered a catch, they actually need an encouragement point for missing an enormous target, and the 'hard men' are having slap fights in the back play. An idiotic game marketed to the right idiots.
