Queensland is on election alert. Two senior Labor MPs have decided not to contest the next election - taking the total so far to four.
But expect more to follow.
One of those not going around again is Education Minister Rod Welford.
Anna Bligh is is yet to announce a date, although March 28 is the most likely at this stage.
Mr Welford though had other ideas.. strange ones to say the least: "The election is on May the 9th and we'll start bombing New South Wales in five minutes."
Might be best that he's moving on.
And with the 11 year old Labor Government in election mode, you'd think their MPs would be falling over themselves to be nice to political reporters.
Strange then that Gaven's Phil Gray, who has already been spoken to several times by the premier about his attitude, should greet me with an 'up yours' when I said good morning to him at Parliament House.
Can't wait for the election, Phil.

After reading the following a few minutes ago I wonder if it really matters who wins in Queensland?

Surely the organisers and people in Queensland have more sense than that? Or are they Melon Heads? And if John Allwood has a stroke as a consequence of head trauma will we the taxpayers be expected to pick up the costs of his rehabilitation?
