I'd like to add tweet-spin.

Queensland Premier Anna Bligh is a fan of Twitter.

It will come as no surprise to learn that her efforts are not in the least bit critical of the Labor State Government.

In fact most of her efforts are syrupy sweet tweets.

TheQldPremier State of Origin day! Winning the 3rd game would be the icing on the cake - I predict Qld win 22-12 - Queenslander!!!

Plenty of politicians use it to blow their own tweet-rumpets.

TheQldPremier Have just opened the new Mackay Entertainment & Convention Centre - a signature bldg bringing conventions & concerts to a great city!

Ms Bligh stays away from anything negative. Not a tweet-peep about recent criticism of the Government by Auditor General Glenn Poole.

Ms Bligh insists she does all of her own twittering.

But here's the scary thing.

I recently twittered a preview of a story on the 6pm news.

patrickcondren wayne swan questions qld govt ability to deliver on 100,000 new jobs promise.

Shortly afterwards Mr Swans office was on the phone demanding to know what was in the story. The gentleman concerned claimed he'd been alerted to some ‘tweet'.

Within minutes of hanging up on him a member of the Premier's staff rang complaining about the story.

Her demands to know the content of the yarn based, in part, on ‘tweets'.

So now political operatives are using the networking website to complain about stories -  BEFORE they even go to air.

Is this the first case of twitter-spin?
