It's over, yet it's just starting!
That's the way I feel almost every year at this time.
Finally the slog makes way for the finals.
But what's odd about next week is how, at first glance, all but one result appear to pick themselves.
The only troubling game for tipsters should be in Adelaide where the Crows will play the Swans.
Elsewhere Hawthorn should be too polished for a slumping Collingwood, Geelong, coming off a powerful display against Sydney should quickly end Fremantle's hopes while West Coast at home appear too well equipped for North Melbourne.
All a bit unexpected really after the drama of the past six months.
But don't despair, it's just a one week thing.
When we get beyond this week I expect things will really tighten up.
No question Hawthorn is the team to beat but after watching the Cats on Saturday I'm almost going to have to dare myself to tip against them.
Imagine, If they were to win another premiership, surely it would have to be the sweetest of the lot.
