Mystery condition makes woman look pregnant after eating

While many people complain about getting bloated after eating, most people can relieve their symptoms by unbuttoning the top button of their trousers.

Not Kerri Dowdswall, however. This 23-year-old usually wears size 10 pants, however she's been forced to buy maternity pants for when she eats because her stomach bulges so much, strangers usually think she's pregnant.

This picture was taken only moments after eating a small slice of cherry pie.

Her stomach returns to its normal size within hours but her mystery condition has doctors baffled.

The condition began when she hit puberty, and doctors thought she was suffering a reaction to gluten. Despite cutting out all wheat products, she still continued to bloat.

She's done tests for a variety food allergies and intolerances and has even tried to methodically eliminate different food groups. Despite all the tests, everything has come back negative.

The UK resident refers to her condition as her 'food babies'. She told the Daily Mail that it's something she's learned to live with, but she still finds it embarrassing and uncomfortable.

"It's really embarrassing. I watch what I eat and exercise regularly, so I'm mortified when I end up looking like I'm about to pop.

"I've been asked several times when I'm due to give birth, and I usually have to explain that my "baby" is a roast dinner.

"If I go out for a meal, I always have to wear something loose, because I know I'll probably expand."

She said there isn't any rhyme or reason behind what causes her stomach to expand.

"Sometimes it's when I eat a big meal, but other times I can just nibble a biscuit or a piece of fruit, and my trousers suddenly don't fit."

"Sometimes it comes up instantly, within about 15 minutes of eating, but other times it takes a few hours, and always takes a few hours to go down.

"It doesn't happen every time I eat, but it's at least a few times a week."
