A manager at a Sydney McDonald's outlet has been accused of throwing hot oil in a customer's face.
Media reports say a man has suffered serious burns to his face, chest, and arms after an altercation at McDonald's in Kings Cross on Friday night.
The alleged victim was said to be ordering food at 3.30am at the restaurant on Darlinghurst Road.
Police say the victim became involved in a verbal argument with the manager while moderately under the influence of alcohol.
It is alleged the victim swore at the manager and threatened to kill him.
The manager is said to have replied, "If you come over the counter, I'll throw oil on you".
The victim then jumped the counter which is when the manager allegedly threw oil directly at the man's face.
Police received statements from a number of witnesses and are reviewing CCTV footage of the incident.
Media reports say the victim was taken to St Vincent's Hospital then transferred to the Burns Unit at Concord Hospital.Police are said to be deciphering whether the manager was acting self-defence. Charges are yet to be laid.
