Carjacker remains at large but luxury Audi supercar found
The $230,000 high-performance Audi R8 that was stolen from its seller at gunpoint and sparked a high-speed pursuit across Sydney has been found in Auburn.
A man advertised his white Audi R8 2014 model for sale on carsales.com and agreed to meet up with a man who he believed was a prospective buyer.
After finding the car in Wentworth Street on Thursday afternoon police are now "reasonably confident" they know who the man is, however it appears he is still at large.
The pair met at a BP service station in Balgowlah at about 6pm on Wednesday night and left for a test drive.

Police say during the drive to Seaforth the man pulled out a gun and pistol whipped the owner, forcing him out of the car.
The owner sustained a cut over his left eye and was taken to Manly Hospital.
He contacted police who spotted the man allegedly driving the vehicle through Mosman at high speeds.
Police were then led on a pursuit, through the Sydney Harbour tunnel to Wooloomooloo.
The driver collided with at least one car, believed to be a police car, before turning around, driving back through the tunnel, and onto the M2.
"Police terminated the pursuit in Beecroft due to safety reasons and his last known sighting was in Moorebank," a police spokesperson told 7 News Online.
The armed thief is "not going to get away with it", Superintendent David Darcy warned on Thursday.
The man is described as being in his 20s and is of middle eastern appearance.
