'Love triangle' blamed for Vic man's murder

A man has been charged over the stabbing murder of another man in Melbourne, believed to be the tragic result of a love triangle.

Laura Chan, 42, is believed to have been sharing a home with her partner and her ex for the past six months, as well as her two children at the time of the alleged murder.

The 44-year-old Melbourne man died at a house in Sunshine West just after 8.30pm on Saturday.

Ms Chan was present in the house at the time and is believed to have been caught up in the argument, suffering non-life threatening injuries to her upper body.

Police were at the scene for most of Sunday as they carried out their investigations.

A 44-year-old man of Vietnamese background remains in police custody.

He is due to appear in Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Monday.
