'One of youse are gunna die': Video shows brutal brawl on Sydney street
Disturbing footage has emerged of a brawl on the streets of Blacktown, something that locals say is a common occurance.
The violent confrontation happened in a public place in the middle of the day, with locals demanding more be done to make their streets safe.
The video shows one man standing on a seat over the top of a woman and another man.
Another man is on the ground.
The man standing on the seat is heard yelling threats at the couple.
A woman is hearding saying "and you want to call me a s***? Some friend you are".
The man in black makes it clear he's not happy with the couple he's standing over.
"What I'm telling ya. Youse don't understand the people I know now. One of youse are gunna get shot. One of youse are gunna die," the man says.
The two men then start punching the man sitting on the seat while he ducks for cover.
Long suffering residents say they're fed up with the danger.
"It's very brutal, shouldn't be happening," one resident told 7 News.
"Whether it be here, or over near the station, there's dramas here almost every week."
Residents say they want the local council to reclaim the streets.
"Something needs to be done, cause it's happening too often," the resident said.
Scott Weber from the Police Association said "it's a common occurance".
"These are common day occurances at Blacktown and something needs to be done. We need to work with the local council, CCTV footage needs to be put in," he said.
Blacktown Council says local police numbers are understrength at just two thirds capacity.
"We need more police resources in Blacktown. We see police resources absolutely stretched across the entire state. We have the lowest police to population ratio in the country," Mr Webber said.
"What's most concerning for police is this happened in such a public place and in broad daylight. Local detectives do have the video and they've told Seven News they are investigating and do expect to lay charges."
