Severed kangaroo head found at notorious drug house before it's torched

A notorious drug house in South Australia has been gutted by fire weeks after police discovered a severed kangaroo head hanging on the front door.

Police were called to the house after a severed kangaroo head was found hanging on the front door a fortnight ago as a warning to the occupants to pay up on a $6,000 drug debt.

That was before an arsonist torched the County Street, Hillcrest about 3am.

The house has a history of violence.

In 2010 two men and two women were arrested after an alleged drug lab was discovered.

Three years later bullets were fired at the house in a drug-related drive-by shooting.

But this latest attack has neighbours scared.

“It’s just crazy for them to do that and just destroy property,” a concerned neighbour said.

Luckily, a single mother and her 12-year-old daughter weren’t at home during the blaze.

A family friend said she was devastated by the news.

“It’s terrible, it’s a tragedy,” she said.

“All of my friend’s possessions, all of her child’s possessions and all their memories, everything gone. Wiped out.”
