WATCH: Dashcam captures Perth merge-fail, sparks debate over who is in the wrong

Footage of a merge-fail in Perth has left some questioning whether WA's drivers are the worst in the country at changing lanes.

The video uploaded to Dash Cam Owners Australia shows a road where the left hand lane merges into the right.

The dashcam records as a car tries to merge into the right lane, hitting the dashcam car's front bonnet.

The video was captioned: "Who's at fault? I feel the guy who turned into me is".

The footage sparked intense debate in the comments section with many criticising the dashcam owner.

"You had plenty of time to see they were indicating and it even looked like you sped up?" Sezz Bidmead wrote.

"Regardless of who's at fault that was totally avoidable with a bit of defensive driving and paying attention to whats ahead," Billy Brown said.

Others seemed to be distracted by other matters.

"Why did you use a potato to film this?" wrote Chan Dalgarno.

A very good question.
