RSPCA reveals images of 'horrendous' NSW puppy farm bust
RSPCA NSW has released a number of images revealing the conditions of a puppy farm south of Sydney.
The pictures show a house in Yerrinbool, which was home to 31 puppies and dogs seized by the RSPCA in August last year.
The dogs were found living in their own filth and had developed flea burdens and ear infections.
Food and water bowls were also found empty.
RSPCA inspector-in-charge Jean Sprague said the condition inside the house was “horrendous.”
“Breathing was difficult and our eyes immediately started to water and sting with the strong fumes of ammonia,” she said.
“All windows were shut and the floor was covered in faeces and urine.”
A 58-year-old puppy breeder, Joanne McIntyre, was this week convicted of three charges of animal neglect and cruelty in Picton Local Court.
