'Police running everywhere': Body found off Sydney cliff on Australia Day

Tragedy has marred Australia Day in Sydney after an onlooker discovered a man’s body at the bottom of a cliff at Shark Point in Clovelly.

Beachgoers frantically performed CPR on the injured man but their efforts were unsuccessful in the end and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A New South Wales police spokeswoman told Yahoo7 that it remains unclear how the man sustained the fatal injuries but said there was a “lengthy process” involved to retrieve his body.

One witness told the Daily Mail that police were seen sprinting across the oval towards the cliff after learning of the horrific scene.
