Underbelly star Vince Colosimo 'charged with drug possession'

Australian actor and Underbelly star Vince Colosimo is due to front court after reportedly being charged with drug possession in Melbourne’s northern suburbs.

Colosimo, 50, was arrested in September after police allegedly found a small amount of methamphetamine in his possession, Fairfax Media has reported.

Reportedly represented by one of Australia’s elite legal firms, Tony Hargreaves and Partners, the father-of-two will front Melbourne Magistrates Court in February.

After starring in Australian favourite’s Wog Boy, Chopper and Lantana, the Victorian native became a household name in 2008 for his role as Melbourne gangster Alphonse Gangitano in Underbelly, before featuring alongside Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio in The Great Gatsby and Body of Lies.

A bitter legal battle with his former partner saw Colosimo take up work on a building site to make ends meet in 2014.
