Mum asked to leave first class flight due to crying baby daughter

An American fashion blogger has slammed Delta Air Lines after she was asked to leave first class, due to her crying baby.

Arielle Noa Charnas said she foresaw the inevitable tears during the six-hour trip from New York to LA on December 29 and booked the first class seat for her, her husband and their baby daughter Ruby.

She said it was the first time the family had flown with their daughter, so they wanted it to be as stress-free as possible.

However before they could even take off, the flight became problematic.

Little Ruby, born in March, was so overwhelmed she couldn’t fall asleep, Charnas explained in an Instagram post after the flight.

Like most sleepy infants, she reacted by “screaming crying.”

The couple had purchased the first class seats so they could lay down with their daughter if needed.

But even after boarding, Ruby didn’t calm down and her fellow passengers weren’t too happy about it.

“I was getting tons of eye rolls and head shakes,” Charnas wrote.

“As if I could just look at Ruby and say ‘Okay, now it’s time to stop.'”

She tried to ignore the frustrated flyers, but about ten minutes later, a flight attendant approached her and her daughter to move to the back of the plane, reasoning that first class passengers were upset and complaining.

“Give up our seats that we paid for and move,” Charnas said.

“As if the people in the back didn’t matter.”

“I started crying because I was so stressed and anxious and instead of the stewardess being helpful and compassionate, she instead made the situation worse,” Charnas continued.

Charnas refused to vacate her first class seats.

“I don’t know what’s right and wrong when it comes to flying with a baby but after telling a few people the story they were in shock.”

Her Instagram post received more than 22,000 likes with many commenters expressing outrage towards the airline and the flight attendant’s treatment of Charnas.

A Delta Air Lines spokesperson told Yahoo US: “Delta flight attendants are trained to provide safe transport and excellent customers service. We fully support all passengers traveling in the class of service for which they’ve paid.”

This is the second time Delta has found themselves in hot water in recent weeks.

On December 21, YouTube stars Adam Saleh and Slim Albaher claimed they were removed from a flight after passengers complained about them speaking Arabic.

The airline claimed they were removed for “disruptive behavior.”
