Police arrest man after sleeping intruder filmed in Melbourne home
A teenager has been arrested and charged over a bizarre home invasion in Melbourne's east.
Tony and Mel Christensen had spotted a suspicious looking shape under a doona in their recently sold Donvale home last Thursday.
Mr Christensen filmed his encounter with the sleeping intruder, before heading downstairs to check for any other possible intruders.
It's alleged that's when the 18-year-old produced a knife and threatened Mrs Christensen before fleeing the scene.
After an appeal on Tuesday, police have arrested an 18-year-old Hampton Park man.
He has been charged with burglary, criminal damage, assault with a weapon and threats to inflict serious injury.
The teen is expected to front a Melbourne court on Wednesday night.
