Perth toddler drowns while on family holiday in Bali

A couple from Perth's north has been left devastated by the death of their toddler at a Bali villa pool.

The 18-month-old girl reportedly slipped, hit her head and fell into the water at a villa in Kuta on Wednesday.

The little girl and her mother had only been in Bali a few days, preparing for the family to relocate from Clarkson when tragedy struck.

The girl was rushed to get medical help but could not be revived.

Her father, who remained in Perth for the trip, has since flown out to be by his partner's side.

He said: "She was the perfect little girl who loved people. She was the happiest kid you'd ever meet, bubbly and beautiful."

Indonesian police said the girl's Indonesian mother and grandmother had received a guest at the home and were sitting in the living room chatting.

"After 15 minutes, the victim's mother remembered about her 18-month-old baby girl," North Kuta Precinct Detective Chief Putu Ika Prabawa told reporters.

"They (the mother and grandmother) just moved to that house which has swimming pool," Chief Prabawa said.

"Six witnesses have been questioned and there's no suspect yet."

A toddler was left fighting for life after a near-drowning at a family holiday in Victoria, and just days after young sisters tragically drowned in their family's backyard swimming pool in Brisbane.

Police say two officers performed life-saving CPR on a toddler at a campground in Harrietville.

The little girl had wandered off from the family's campsite and was found unresponsive 100m downstream by her aunty.

The quick-thinking officers used a defibrillator from a nearby pub on the little girl to help revive her.

She was then airlifted to the Royal Children's Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

Earlier this week three-year-old Patricia and four-year-old Taya tragically drowned after reportedly climbing on a chair to get over a pool fence in the family's Kingston backyard.

The girls' five-year-old brother spotted them in the water and called out for help.

Despite the best efforts of the girls' parents, the little girls died at the scene.
