Man arrested after body found in Ballarat restaurant

A man has been arrested after the body was discovered in a restaurant at Ballarat, Victoria, Tuesday night.

The body of a man, believed to be in his 30s, was found at the Indian eatery, Ballarat Curry House, at Bridge Mall about 8.30pm.

Homicide squad detectives conducted an overnight investigation and left the scene about 7.30am, the Herald Sun reported.

Table cloths, cutlery and glassware remained in place and pots and pans were still on the kitchen stove at the time of the arrest, suggesting no signs of disturbance.

A 49-year-old man was taken in to police custody early Wednesday morning is assisting police with their enquires.

He is due to appear at the Ballarat Magistrates Court today.
