Man who sparked Melbourne train terror 'schizophrenic'
The man accused of a terrifying rampage on a Melbourne train was already out on bail for an alleged assault on paramedics.
The accused, Adam Reeves, reportedly suffers from schizophrenia and requires prescribed medication.
It is unclear whether Mr Reeves had taken that medication before witnesses say he barked at, bit and stomped on an elderly woman at the Hawthorn station on Thursday.
It’s further alleged Reeves attacked an autistic schoolboy during the violent rampage which saw terrified passengers run off the train.

“It was pretty horrific,” one witness told 7 News after the attack.
“It seemed like he was on some kind of crazy drug,” another alleged.
Reeves was detained by passengers at Hawthorn station until police arrived.
The 73-year-old victim, who was allegedly bitten and stomped on, remains in the Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.
Reeves remains behind bars on charges including intentionally causing serious injury, reckless conduct and committing an offence while on bail.
The court heard Reeves was already on bail after allegedly assaulting two on-duty paramedics during a drunken Christmas Day incident.
He is yet to plead on that matter.
