Two men crushed to death on Queensland construction site
Two men have been crushed to death by a concrete panel, after it collapsed at a construction site in Queensland.
The Queensland Ambulance Service said the incident happened at Eagle Farm Racecourt in the northern Brisbane suburb of Ascot.
The concrete wall in a construction pit collapsed on top of the men about 4pm Thursday, according to police.
The incident happened close to the end of the work day.
A crane lowering an eight-tonne concrete wall slipped, resulting in two men in their 20s being crushed.
It took ten workmates to lift the wall, however tragically the men could not be saved.
The pair had been working in a standing pit, helping to build two new world class stables at Eagle Farm Racecourse.
Seven ambulances were rushed to the scene following the incident.
