Tobacco thieves raid Candyman Travers Beynon's Gold Coast warehouse

A warehouse reportedly belonging to flamboyant tobacco tycoon Travers ‘Candyman’ Beynon has been raided by thieves.

Police in Queensland say a warehouse at Coomera on the Gold Coast was hit between 2am on Saturday, October 1 and 6.30am on Monday, October 3.

Media reports suggest the warehouse was part of Beynon’s Free Choice tobacco business.

According to police, the criminals broke into the warehouse on Kohl Street after stealing a ladder from a nearby business, climbing onto the roof and entering through a skylight.

Once inside they disabled security systems, opened shipping containers and made off with a “significant amount of tobacco products”, police said.

Detectives from Taskforce Latro West have appealed for public assistance.

Beynon has become one of Australia's most well known celebrity businessmen, gaining attention for his flamboyant social media presence, lavish parties and sexually charged selfies.
