Brother's heartbreaking tribute to sister after fatal jump

A young Queensland man whose sister died after 'jumping' from a moving car while the pair was reportedly arguing has posted a heartbreaking tribute to her, promising to ‘make it up’ to her forever.

Kevin Pua was driving only minutes from their home in a Brisbane suburb last Wednesday when his 17-year-old sister Carmen Pua jumped from the car, as it travelled at a speed of up to 60km/h.

Miss Pua suffered serious head and chest injuries, and was rushed to Princess Alexandra Hospital, where she died on Sunday.

In an emotional Facebook post, Mr Pua thanked those who had supported him, his family and especially his “beautiful young baby sister Carmen Pua”.

“I couldn't take the flowers inside the intensive care unit but I know she loves the flowers and every single one of you's [sic],” he wrote.

The young Queenslander seemed desolate as he described how those who die young ‘are the lucky ones’ and said he would forever love his sister with all his heart and soul.

‘I will be there in the future to see you again and I promise to make it up to you from now on until forever.”

He accompanied his post with a picture by his sister's hospital bed, of the flowers she had been sent and of the pair together in happier times.

7 News reported last week that the siblings had a disagreement while they were travelling Progress Road, with their 71-year-old grandmother also in the car.

Mr Pua described at the time how he had tried frantically to save his sister as he waited for emergency services.

Friends have also paid tribute to Miss Pua, describing her ‘kind-hearted’ nature and their devastation at losing her.
